Late bloomer IRISH KISSES breaks through with a great win on Cessnock Cup Day.
The up-and-coming Shamus Award mare had only the one run back in January, and unfortunately sustained an injury, so we gave her the time to recover and mature in the paddock.
The break did wonders, and she recovered well, and all her work had been good since being back in the stable, we decided to take her first up to Newcastle without a trial. And it was a dominant display fresh behind an excellent steer from Aaron Bullock finding the spot outside the leader from a wide draw.
Aaron hit button at the 350m and she lengthen to grab the front and run away by 2.8L.
