It’s been quite the journey for DEFEAT who started his career brilliantly winning 4 of his first 9 starts and since then while he hasn’t won he has raced well without luck never far from the finish. This campaign the son of I Am Invincible placed first up at midweek city level in April before the soft winter going saw him struggle to get on terms in these high class fields.
Racing on the home surface is always an advantage and with a good surface the rising 6YO was able to display his powerful finish down the outside to salute by close to 3 lengths. It was a fantastic ride from Brock Ryan settling towards the back of the field and as they straightened he was able to time the finish to perfection for a well-deserved victory.
