Tracey Bartley started his career into the horse racing industry in 1978 as a jockey and went on to have a very successful career riding winners into his 30’s before suffering a terrible fall.
The decision was made to turn his hand at training and with the skills he had learnt from his uncle Jonnie Mock and Rosehill Trainers – Frank Penfold and Kerry Walker he was well on his way to success.
Tracey is a proud bushie who has achieved the dream of many trainers by winning not one but 3 Group 1 races with his favourite horse SNIPER’S BULLET.
A few years ago he was diagnosed with stomach and liver cancer and needed surgery. The prognosis was bleak, but he kept fighting before being given the all clear and has not looked back. Tracey has earned the reputation of being an astute horseman and prides himself on the rejuvenation of many gallopers back to winning form once having joined his stable.
His goal is to ensure that every horse in his care fulfils their potential. He does this by ensuring that they are fit, healthy and happy. He likes to keep his stable to a manageable size to ensure his horses receive the personal attention they deserve. This approach has served him well over the years with many successes including SNIPER’S BULLET (Winner of over $2.6 Million) and MARCHINSKY (Now named Vital Flyer, racing in Hong Kong) .
Tracey Bartley Racing is backed by a committed team of staff dedicated to provide the best results for their clients.
